North Davis Jr. High Families,
Believe it or not, we are only seven school days away from first term coming to an end. It feels like yesterday our students entered the building for the first time this year. We are proud of how hard our students have worked to increase their learning, and we are extremely grateful to our teachers and staff who have labored tirelessly to carry out our school's mission: "Learning First. Every Student. Every Day. Empowered to learn, lead, and belong."
Here are three quick updates for you this week:
Concert Season: Choir, band, and orchestra will be having concerts this upcoming week at Clearfield High School's auditorium. Come out and support our talented students and their amazing instructors.
Choir: October 6th @ 7 PM
Band: October 7th @ 7 PM
Orchestra: October 8th @ 7 PM
State-Wide Read-a-Thon: Today, we participated in a state-wide read-a-thon by giving our students 15 minutes in each of their classes designated to silent reading. Literacy and reading comprehension are crucial to the success of our students futures. Please continue to support your students by setting time aside each day for them to read. Whether it be a novel or comic book, our kids need to be spending time each day reading.
Boys Basketball and How to Train Your Dragon the Musical tryouts and auditions: October 7th is a big day for our students who want to play boys basketball and who want to be part of the school musical at North Davis Jr. High. Tryouts and auditions will be held at the school on October 7th for both.
Boys Basketball Tryouts: 3:15 PM in the gym.
School Musical Auditions: 3 PM on October 7th and 8th. (If you have questions regarding these auditions, speak with Ms. Christine Scott.)
Thank you, again, for raising amazing kids. We are the luckiest educators in the district to be working with the North Davis Jr. High community. Have a great weekend!
